With only two races of the Hooton Indikart Series left, 6-year-old Sutton Coldfield Bambino Karter Finlay Lines, is joint 1st in the Championship table. It’s all to play for to be crowned the 2018 Champion!
Last time out at the Ellesmere Port Circuit, Finlay topped the times in free practice. After completing qualifying and two heats, he came 3rd in the final race, boosting his Championship points tally. The next race is on October 14th where he will be pushing to claim the top spot.
Finlay also took part in a one-off meeting at, what is considered to be, one of the best circuits in the UK; Cumbria Kart Racing Club at Rowrah. In free practice, Finlay set a 2nd fastest time out of 15 drivers. In changeable conditions, Finlay continued to be on the pace, qualifying in 2nd place. In the wet, his times equalled the leading driver. With high-placed positions in the heats and the final, his points put him in a fantastic 2nd place overall for the weekend.
Finlay’s Dad, Stewart Lines, said, “It was a brand-new track for Finlay where he’d never driven before. He stepped up to the plate and drove great to achieve his 2nd place. His next big meet will be the London Cup which is televised on Motors TV, and he will be up against 30 other karters from across the UK.”
